Although I haven't worked on cars in years, decided to retorque the headbolts on my 01 Aero a)to avoid future problems and b)check for sludge. I downloaded 2 how-to articles on this. One says replace a bolt then torque it to 60nm plus 90 degrees then do the next one. The other article says replace one, torque it to 40nm then go on to the next. Once they have all been replaced, go back an torque them up to 60 plus 90 degrees. Does it make a difference?
Also not knowing how the new bolts that look like 80's bolts are actually made...metal composition etc...I'd be leery about turning them up to 80nm plus 90 degrees - sorry Swedeguy.
