The price (good or bad) for transmission flush all depends on how they do it.
If they only do a "drain and fill", the price is high.
If they drain and refill several times with driving the car in between, the price is ok to be a dealer price.
Many times, a shop that doesn't care only open the drain plug and let what ever amount of fluid drain out (approx 3-4 quarts). After that they fill the tranny and they are done.
To get the most amount of fluid replenish you need to drain and refill and drive the car and do the procedure over again (8 to 10 Quarts). Maybe even three times if the fluid is really dirty to begin with.
Another method is if they have a fluid flush machine that can be hooked up to one of the transmission cooler hoses. That way they can pump all the old fluid out while the new fluid is let into the transmission.
