Just wanted to compliment Saab corporate customer service in a public forum. My airbag light was on - owner's manual said could airbag could inflate at low or no speed (great). Brought car to dealer. Was told needed new airbag. One week later, I hadn't heard from them. Called and was told they forgot to order it. Following week, still hadn't heard from dealer. Called and was told part was on back order, not expected for another month.

Called Saab customer service in Atlanta to find out how dangerous it was to drive with a defective airbag (going off for no reason could cause a major accident). When I told them how long the dealership said it would take, they said that's ridiculous. They called the dealership and the airbag was there two days later.

Not so pleased with the dealership. Brought car in to have the airbag replaced and they were p.o.'d that I'd called Saab (they're the ones who sell the car based on safety). They replaced the airbag and the light went back on before I drove off the lot.

They then told me that the original airbag was fine and they put it back in and that I needed a new switch. And while they were fixing it, I heard all these comments that it was my fault for insisting on a new airbag. I made them look bad when there was nothing wrong with the airbag in the first place. I'm no car mechanic - they were the ones who told me I needed it!

Anyway, Saab corporate was courteous, fast, and responsive. A very nice experience. Don't hesitate to call them with questions. They seem to care.
