Can anyone tell me the position of the brass key on the motor gearbox after calibration?
Will you get the code 08 when calibrating with motor in free space?
I tackled the heater box fix today armed with the excellent instructions of Buck and compaqted. Turns out the green arm was broken at the keyway, not the yellow coupling piece. Put in the white replacement and noticed that at full stroke the arm did not contact the stops and continued to over torque the yellow coupling against the travel limit of the flap door (in both directions). I built up the surface of the white arm so that it met the stop at the same time the flap met it's limit. Thought I was done.
When I calibrated the motor before mounting, I got the code 08 again, and I still have a heavy vibration when fan goes high speed (another prob). Upon inspection of the motor during a calibration there was some clicking and I parted the motor from the gearbox to look for broken teeth w/o noting position of brass keyway. Yeah, I feel dumb!(teeth look ok where they meet the motor shaftand gearbox spins smoothly)
Next, I'm looking at the cabin filter and air intake to the blower for the cause of the vibration.
