You want the PFL400A, which is identical in every respect to the PF53 except length (and amount of filter media). It fits fine - better even than the PF53 b/c it's easier to grab onto when removing. BUT...
I agreee completely with Dean that you should be using a better filter than the standard Delco. The Purolator filter he linked to was the second best filter tested by GM when they were selling their "Delco Gold" line. Also, don't discount the OE Saab filter. It packs a huge amount of media into its small case on account of the filter being held in place by the outer can, rather than having an inner can to constrain the filter. (That's why the Saab OE filer has those two grooves in the side.)
