Why can’t the windows/sunroof close as a fail safe solution?
Weather was nice, walked away from car without checking and forgot sunroof was used in the nice drive I had just finished. I accidentally left the sunroof tilted up yesterday during a heavy all day rain. Amazingly it is not a total disaster. Inside of the car is dry except for a few droplets on the armrest. I gather everything got a little moist, but probably not much more than during such damp weather. Headliner is dry except for the sliding panel. I guess the end near the tilt got wet and it soaked through the fabric. I dried it as best as possible with paper towels and light pressure…just hold and let it soak into the paper towel. Is the area where the glass would normally slide into sealed, i.e., can water get from inside that opening to the headliner? Anything more I need to do? To bad it isn’t nice and sunny today. I really hope there are no residual problems because of this. Could happen to anyone, just forgot. I always check the windows haven’t used the sunroof over the winter so forgot.
