"First, when should I do it? I'd like to see what the '06 models have to offer....BUT, if I order an 06, I'm guessing the incentives won't be nearly as good as they are now, right?"
Ah -- that's the eternal question, isn't it?
We just bought a 9-5 Arc wagon today. After doing a lot of comparison shopping with other wagons, especially the Volvo V70 which we thought was the nearest competitor, we felt that the features that were lacking on a current 9-5 wagon that were available on the Volvo V70 were: (1) Electronic Brake Assistance (but only if you get the DTSC package on the Volvo), (2) side curtain airbags, and (3) rear seat belt pretensioners. From what little I know about cars, adding EBA is probably relatively easy, as would be the rear seat belt pretensioners, but side curtain airbags is such an integral part of a car's base design that I doubt they would be added for what will essentially be a cosmetic remodel.
The current incentives are really pretty good. I would suggest going to price one out, and see if the current incentives are good enough for you.
