My Subaru just entered its final months...
97 Impreza Outback Sport 109K
Back drums and shoes are noexistant (I chose to put them off forever), blew main engine seal oil covering underside and smeltering on the manifold. Odd, yet harsh sounding, noise from rear only when accelerator is depressed...me thinks the exhaust system has troubles...coupled with lack of "oomph" suspension also never worked on, subaru was always known for their shitty wiring jobs, and I have various electronical malfunctions to show for it - but the various oil leaks we're particularly annoying (and theatrical when on the road)
The car does not hold my 235lbs 6'1" frame very well either and I just plain grew out of it (I purchased it young)...After the Outback I'm looking for something a lot more refined and sedate...look wise...I have experience with the 9-5 over in Europe where I clocked 100 miles daily...
I got the Subaru at a Dealer auction in Trenton as an off lease from PA,
Im looking for a 02 Aero and I might check the auction prices in the coming weeks..
That 03 Aero with 50K for $15,000 in the classifieds was a STEAL! regadless of service records...
Its not that the Subaru wont drive another five years, its just that its reached the end of its "service-free" life and it makes economic sense to part ways. I expect to extract some $2,000 salvage value when sold...
I can almost feel those comfortable sport seats!...
