throttle body failure or turbo or both -- HELP

Car began smoking very badly yesterday after I messed with the base set idle screw on the throttle body. Tech agrees that turning the screw should not have caused smoke. Seller in NY (owns shop and seems very well versed in Saabs) thinks the smoke was due to the new throttle body being defective. One hundred and fifty throttle bodies are on back order so it is suspicious. So we put the old throttle body back in and car still smokes, but at least the engine starts, which the new throttle body could no longer do. Tech at dealer thinks the smoke is from the turbo. But the smoke did not appear until Saturday and it is huge clouds of smoke. To me, the tailpipe ash, which is black, looks like unburned fuel rather than oil. Don't know whether a bad turbo can give a bad fuel mixture or not. Can see how a bad turbo can give oil related smoke.
Is it the turbo, is it the throttle body, or is it both?
