In May of last year the board helped me secure a full-size spare for my then-new 2004 Linear ("2004 Linear Wheels" was the thread). Last week I found myself 250 miles from home on a business trip. After dinner I came to the car to drive ten miles or so back to the hotel and found an extremely flat tire -- with a 2 inch drywall screw in the tread. Although AAA proved worthless, we changed the tire for the full-size spare and continued on our way. I would have been extremely reluctant to drive the twenty miles roundtrip to our hotel on the mini-spare, and I can guarantee you there wasn't a Pirelli P6 in the town of 80,000 where I was visiting. As it turned out, a local tire shop was able to fix the flat and I'm back to normal. Thanks to Mike Lynch for his helpful advice a year ago, and a suggestion to all of you who are cool enough to drive wagons that a full-size spare is an easy upgrade which will fit beneath your floor without any problems.
