It's a little bit of a gray area, but a dealer often can't do warranty work without a complaint.

Complain about sid pixels missing on cold mornings, maybe you'll get a new SID outa' them. Get the idea? Or perhaps an oil smell like from a leak so they check for sludge and head gasket leaks. Complain of poor cranking so they test the battery.

You're within 2k of a 50k service so just have a 50k done, and don't bother with an extra $95 worth of labor. Anything maintenance wise they recommend on top of the 50k service, brakes and stuff, might be a good introduction for the transition to an independent one your outa' warranty.
