Since you've got an '02, I'm assuming you mean the side marker light next to the headlight, not the cornering light in the fog lamps.
Its been awhile for me, but IIRC, you lift the hood, and on the inside of the lamp (in the fender), there was a nut, bolt, or plastic spring clip on the inside of the light that clipped it in place. Once you find that, to remove the assembly, you slide it forward (ie, towards the FRONT of the car). So if you are on the left side of the car, facing the side light, the light assembly slides to the left.
There is a socket with the wires that just swaps onto the new light.
Someone will come along with better information; it's been about 2 years since I did mine! When I get back to the car, I'll take a quick look and see if there was anything else, but I think its very straightforward.
