Dis-Satisfied?

26,000 miles ago, I installed new rotors and Satisfied-Pro ceramic enhanced pads on the front of my 00 9-5. For the first 24,000 miles all was well, the brakes worked well with little or no dusting. Two months ago, things started going down hill when I began to feel “warped rotor” vibrations. I inspected the rotors an found deposits of pad material on them as described in Carol Smith’s article (see link)
I followed his instructions and those of others on the board, but I could only make temporary improvements, and the vibrations kept coming back. On close inspection, the rotors and Satisfied pads showed very little wear, however, there were multiple clear marks on the rotors corresponding to the outline of the pads, and particularly, radial lines corresponding to the radial split between the upper and lower halves of the pads.
Two weeks ago, I took a retrograde step and installed ye olde style semi-metallic pads (PBR/Axxis metal-master) in the hope that these more aggressive pads would scour the rotors and remove the Satisfied material. The plan worked, after two weeks of normal driving, the OEM feel is back as is the dust. My guess is that the Satisfied pads do not clean the rotors as aggressively as OEM style pads, and therefore build up material on the rotors over time and making them susceptible to this problem. Even after 300 miles on the semi-metallic pads, I can still see some vestiges of the deposits on the rotors, but they are fading further each day.
