ASpicing up your first car, 1999 9-5 Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Just bought my first car, 1999 9-5, Eebs, Sat, 14 May 2005 08:49:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 2000 9-5 Saab Aero that I've enjoyed for 5 years now. Here are some things I've done that may give you some ideas.
SPOILER - I added one from Saab....the curved one for the 9-5
XM RADIO - I installed a Pioneed unit 4 years ago because of the travel I do. Once you have XM you'll never go back. Now Saab makes a complete kit...they'll even install it for $250 o so. It is a DIY project if you're mechanically inclined.
XENON LIGHTS - I added them using an aftermarket kit ($750)
BBS 2-PIECE WHEELS - no single chang will do more for the appearance of the car. Sports Car Service in DE has them. Ask for Bill Jacobsen.
KONI STRUTS and SHOCKS - much better than the orginals...and cheaper too.
HALOGEN BULBS for the BACKUP LIGHTS - helps see behind you better at night.
AUTO-DIMMING REAR-VIEW MIRROR - you'll never regret this addition. Aftermarket $150. Easy DIY.
FREQUENT OIL CHANGES - this will allow you to enjoy all of these enhancements for a long time.
My 2000 9-5 Aero has 249,000 miles on it.
