The custom installer wanted $120 for installation so I figured I'd do it. It took some time to do it right (a side note: I am very impressed with the finishing quality of the interior. The down side is its much harder to run wires than on a Nissan). I wanted it to look as close to factory as possible so it was a challenge. I pulled out the ashtray pocket (cubby) and drilled a hole on the back side to run the controller wires though. Since there was no good way to mount the controller there (without buying the $270 XM kit) I simply cut a piece of wood (about 1 1/4 x 4 x 2), painted it black, screwed it into the plastic pocket, and hot glued the controller to the front. Looks pretty good overall. I needed 2 antenna adapters for the modulator and mounted the tuner box under the passenger seat (also very tight). Start to finish it took nearly all day. You could do it much quicker if you aren't as picky -- or have 2 small helpers.
No issues with FM bleed. The modulator cuts out any signals when on. Sirius sounds slightly better than most FM stations, though it is compressed data with a sound enhancer broadcasting over satellite and not a CD. I'm just happy to have stations to listen to without commercials again.
Also, while I had the stereo out I ran a cassette adapter wire under the radio (very thin wire) between the radio and the ACC. It doesn't look too bad just running out of the cassette and down 2". Now I can use my iPod as well.
I have a photo on my Yahoo site.
