Worst experience I've ever had at a dealership.
They claimed it was 2.3 hours flat rate, and took off an .3 since the car was apart. After I brought it to their attention, they thought reducing it to an hour was 'fair'.
I guess I'll have to see if the tensioner and pully's make it to 120K. At the least I have a water pump. I have a Cadillac Catera. It has a similar engine to the Saab. While the Caddie had a Water pump, pully, timing belt recall, they don't have any tensioner scares. People are popping on new timing belts at 60K instead of GM's scheduled service interval of 100K. I haven't heard of them eating tensioners and pulleys. But enough Caddie owners have broken belts going beyond 60K to know that waiting it out to 100K isn't worth it.
My dealer claims they don't replace the pully's or tensioners unless they are 'needed'. But, I don't believe them anymore either.
