DI cassette failure

I took my car in to the dealer (still an warranty) because I was getting blue smoke from my exhaust on startup. When they first looked at it yesterday they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it but i told them to keep it overnight because in the mornings the smoke seems the most pronounced. Also before bringing the car over there it had a really rough/slow startup combined with a really awful misfire. So they finally looked at it this morning and now they tell me that when they started it up and it was doing just what I described. They checked the plugs which were just replaced 5000 miles ago and they are now "encrusted" - i assume this means with oil. A faulty DI cassette seems highly suspect doesn't it? How else would the spark plugs go bad so quickly? Before i brought the car in I really thought that oil was somehow making its way into the exaust/pcv hoses but now the dealer is telling me that its from unburned fuel. Do you think he's right?
