If you purchase oil and the proper type filter and change it at the manufactturer's required intervals( or more frequently) you have built a paper trail that they are not going to challenge. While anyone could argue that oil you purchased could go into another vehicle, what about the Saab spec oil filters that you bought along with the oil? Since receips have dates, thereis going to be overwhelming evidence in your favor that you did change the oil.Even if you bought your oil and filters in bulk you still have that receipt to show that. With regular warranties ,just about all manufacturers wll accept a private consumer's proof of oil changes as valid for warranty issues. Peersonally I see no redeeming value in changing my own oil, since my mechanic does it and checks every fluid under the hood and sets tire pressures and checks the brakes for $30.00, but understand why some people would do it themselves. I would not worry as long as you have a receipt trail. If no receipts, then go ahead and worry.
