Based upon advice received in my last post ("Coolant Question"), I'm seriously thinking about taking the car in to have its coolant topped up and an overall check on why, at 7500 miles, I'm low. (Could be as simple as that Lars in Trollhatten just ran out of the stuff the moment my car was being filled. Hell and they screwed up the transmission order, giving us an automatic instead of manual.....)

The Saab service point in Mons, Belgium, (Willems Opel/Saab) where my husband is stationed, seems a bit lame.
Today, for example, when I went in to purchase the Approved Saab Coolant as required in the Owners' Manual, neither guy knew if the Opel coolant was Saab approved. Got that infuriating Gallic shrug; insisted on an answer; and, after a few phone calls, got a yes. (It is orange, Opel is GM, so I'm not too worried that it's the wrong stuff.)

HOWEVER, I'm not too sure that I want to go back and have them start ripping out my new baby's innards, either.
Perhaps it was the language thing; perhaps it's my overall impression of the caliber of the Greater Mons Metropolitan Area; or, perhaps, both. But... I have a funny feeling that their concentration is Opel and they see a Saab only when one crashes and burns on the nearby Autoroute.

Gut feeling: Brussels is the place to go. Distance isn't an issue; I used to drive from south of Lexington, KY to north of Cincinnatti, OH when my 9-3 needed service. (That was before a Cadillac dealer in Lex added Saab early last year.)

So, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be delighted to ponder them

Thanks again.
