The 9-5 has a 4 qt oil capacity, a turbocharger, and a documented history of sludge "issues". Oh and by the way, it's super difficult to accurately check the oil level because of the dipstick's inexplicable design. And it's got that fine oil screen mentioned by the other guys.
Given this, does anybody really feel comfortable leaving the oil in their brand new $30,000+ car for that long? Not I. I'll gladly change it out every 5k.
