You need some basic tools. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Remove gravel shield. (8mm and torx bolts)
Twist radiator drain plug about 1/2 turn anti-clockwise. Harder than it sounds because the angle is not made for the human hand!
Close drain plug and fill it up.
If changing the thermostat, you need to remove the top hose from the housing, and then remove a couple of bolts and the housing comes off.
If flushing the coolant with water, the Haynes talks about removing the lower radiator hose, but I found this very difficult. Even with my small arms and hands I could not disconnect this hose. I can't imagine trying to change the radiator! It's a pretty tight fit. I just unhooked the top hose and let the radiator drain plug empty the system. It's not getting the big debris out, but I was too frustrated to care!
