A quick look at the WIS will reveal a list of items that need to be selected or programmed via a Tech-II for the SID to operte 100% and accurately. You bought yours used, and if it came from a nearly identical car (same model), all these functions were already set at the factory to match what your car requires. Except one.
Just a strong hunch, but I bet the Service Rquired message will illuminate at the wrong mileage points.
An "out of the box" new SID will work with almost all functions fully functional and correct without "programming".
