The names, HP, and options have changed over those model years. You should probably decide which engine you want and procede from there. The basic 2.3L light pressure turbo (LPT) is by far the most common Saab. Then there are 6 cyl. 9-5's, and there are Aeros, which are the high output turbo (HOT). The Aero also has a tighter suspension, 17" wheels (vs. 16") and sport seats. I can tell you for '02 the Linear was 185 HP LPT, the Arc was a 6 cyl, about 210 HP, and the Aero was 250 HP HOT. The 6 cyl. was discontinued, the current Arc is a 4 cyl, 220 HP I think, not sure if it is LPT or HOT. I think they still have a Linear but only in the sport wagon. It's all very confusing. Different years had different option packages. Any of the '02-'04 will be very similar, price and availability will probably determine which you choose. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. It might be helpful to skim this board, there is a lot of useful info.
