I guess I'm an Aero guy after all Posted by IanC [Email] (#139) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IanC) on Tue, 14 Jun 2005 19:21:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Purchased a 2004 9-5 Aero Wagon today. I also test drove an 02 Linear CPO off lease and decided that the choice was really between the two (04 Linear's aren't that much cheaper than the Aero). The ride was what I wanted and the seats were incredible. I still have more road feel and responsiveness out of my 96 900SETC (new Bilsteins and poly bushings all around help a lot, I'm sure) but for what is a pretty big car the Aero does well. Plus, I'm still getting used to it. It's scary fast on the highway, 3000 rpm = possibility of very big ticket in fifth gear. Finally, the Aero was very loaded and since I intend to keep it for a while it was worth the extra $$$.
The car has 4,800 miles and is one year into it's warranty. The idea of 5 more years or 95,000 miles is very appealing, I've spent a lot of time under the vert recently. Plus 2.9% CPO financing kills any other rate I've found.
Mike Lynch and Dean, thank you for all of your help! Mike, if you weren't a continent away I'd have looked you up - you bring a lot to the site! Finally, Village Saab in Acton MA did a nice job. Chris was the only one of several dealerships to repond to my request for a quote and did a great job of making the buying experience low stress and easy. This board is great though, I knew more about the cars than some of the salespeople I spoke with at various dealerships (not Chris, though, he knows his stuff). I liked Village Saab, I would recommend based on my experience. BTW, he saw my TSN sticker on the vert and knew what it meant. So plus points for that.
