Just because the hood had been repainted is not an indication of a wreck. Could have been a stone chip or acid rain...
A good body shop that you may know of can do a "walk around" and tell you if they think it was ever wrecked. (I did that before I bought my CPO 2001 wagon fron the dealer)
What is the runout on the rear brake discs? What is the runout on the rear rims?
Your opinion of the $80/yr....replace things---SAAB will not reimburse the dealer unless it is a known fault, unless previously approved by the district mgr/2nd level as you are told.
I learned this process a few years ago with a SAAB 9-3 CV that had convertible top issues, and had to wait for a SAAB dist, service mgr to authorize, and even visit the dealer...
Somtimes the process is slow, but it should get eventually resolved. I wish you the best.
