This is a common problem. It's caused by a breakdown in the solder
join(s) inside the headlight control relay..."the orange relay". You have 2 choices:
1) Replace the relay....this could cost $100.
2) Open up the relay (orange relay under the hood) and resolder the failed joint(s). They can usually be seen with a magnifying glass.
I've used approach #2 on a couple of 900's, 9000's, and a 9-5. Same symptoms...same fix. If you buy a new relay...it too may eventually fail the same way.
