No, but make sure that they change the tensioner! Posted by CrNiFe [Email] (#408) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CrNiFe) on Tue, 28 Jun 2005 20:25:35 In Reply to: 96k km PM coming up, LesH, Tue, 28 Jun 2005 13:06:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Even if the mechanic tells you it is still good, change it. See my post on the wisdom of the board. If I had listened, it would have saved me time, money and aggravation.
I sourced my parts locally, but the parts manager appreciates my business and gives me a big enough discount to save on the PST and GST... I had a DIC new that was my emergency back-up, and I just dropped it in recently. I forgot to check the version. I did do a software update last year though, and it may now be worth something with the new DIC in place.
The short belt solution seems to have affected my power steering, in that I get a large vibration at low revs and slow turns (parking lots) which drives my wife bongo. It may be time for a new power steering pump, or even engine mounts. Hard to say without laying the cash on the barrel for the diagnosis in the shop.
