Re: dimensions of the tube? 43.5 x 6 x 3 inches Posted by CrNiFe [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: What are the dimensions of the tube? Install question, steve, Thu, 14 Jul 2005 18:08:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I find the tube does not affect my usable space at all, and we pack the back to the gills when we travel (twin 16-month old boys).
Although the trunk cover (foldable) can hold a bit of weight, I hate to put anything heavy up there, even with the net in place, because it becomes a missle in a sudden stop. Heavy below the cover, light on top is my rule. I also don't like to obstruct my rear view mirror vision, and I find I get used to looking through the net.
Here is a question for dmz789b - can I take the tube off? I have a 1999 wagon, so without the LATCH connectors I have to use anchor tethers on the aft of the seats, outboard positions. But, since the belts pass from the child seats under the headrests they have to go over the tube, which I don't like, because now the cargo net can't be used unless I take out the seats. Your insights would be helpful as we plan our vacation.
