Wow the 4cly engines are evey bit as expensive as the v6s used. Is here a way to personal message me on this forum. I don't want to get in trouble for posting links. Where are you located? 3 years ago put a 2.3 one in my old SAAB 9000 that had 40k on it. I paid 450 for it. ( I wasn't able to find anything like that. Since my engine was out I decided to replace the tranny too. It has 3200 miles on it. I think the sludge issue has really inflated the price of good engines. I would call all the local salvage yards in your phone book first. Sometimes the smaller yards don't realize what a valuable part they have. Especially if they primarily sell used ford and GM engines. I agree with Anders that before instalation you should pull the oil pan and clean the screen.
