My point abouve was that changes in spec are one thing, but whether they actually result in a practical difference is another. Do Aeros with the rear vented and slightly larger brakes actually stop shorter or really have less fade in real day to day driving? I tend to doubt it, and unless someone were to do a back to back comparison of both,I don't thing anyone can state definitively that they do. I recall a 230 HP Aero being tested in Road and Track and shwing a 6.7 second 0-60 time. What does a 250 HP aero do it in? I seem to recall that Saab's spec is also 6.7 seconds. What I'm getting at is that the amount of these changes is so small that it becomes hard to argue that something has been taken away. Sure,everyone always tends to think that vented rotors are better than solid ones, and of course, you can never have too much horsepower,but for practical everyday driving, these changes really are minimal. Looking at the big picture, the 2005 Aero that you can buy is a much better car than the 2000 model. Chances are the 2006 9-5 will top even these.
