They plug it in your car right there in the parking lot. You don't have to leave your CC with them because they come out to tell you what the code means. It plugs in under the dash on the drivers side, there is a litte flip down door. They plug it in and then you turn your key into the on position and it takes about 30 seconds to take a reading. I have had problems with my CEL too, and it was much better to take it to them because they could give me a list of possible causes and easy solutions, with out wanting to charge a bulndle. (code of P1110, which could could be a dirty air filter, fuel injector, or faulty O2 sensor, they say that those are the usual suspects that turn on a CEL.) Autozone is a great place, I just wish they carried a manual, and more parts so I don't have to wait for them to be ordered.
