I replaced the batteries, a task I would not recommend to anyone who does not know how to solder. The problem went away for two or three months but then it came back. The alarm suddenly was going off out of nowhere! It usually happens after the car is warm or in a very hot day. That usually means that there is a faulty component on the PC board of the alarm module. I was really disappointed because I spent a couple of hours on removing the alarm module and replacing the batteries. From previous posts I was sure that the problem was going to be solved. Now I do not know what to do, should I order a new alarm module or what?
On a different note I wanted to thank all on the people who post and share information about different problems and how to solve them. This alarm problem was not solved but so many other problems (not that many…) where fixed by me thanks to the shared information. It feels good to know that if you have any problem with your beloved SAAB (it really hurts when I have a problem with my AERO) you don’t feel helpless, you can always go to the Saabnet forum.
Thanks,
Rony
