OK I went to install my rear pads, and ran into an initial problem that tire rack sent me the wrong pads but luckily Pep Boys had the correct Hawk Pads. Vin is x3462xx so it is the new caliper model for the 99 9-5.
The pads I have are HB227F.630 I removed the old pads had my rotors turned and am now attempting to install my pads. I relubed the caliper slides and drop in the spring loaded pad first and when I attempt to drop in the second pad there is not enough space to drop it down past the caliper body and into the guide grooves. I have compressed the Piston in the caliper with a C- clamp and they are fully compressed. Anyone have any thoughts on what I am doing wrong? I have changed pads on all my other cars over the years and never felt this stupid, help please.
