Even if the repair cost was a lot less at the indy place I still wonder how so many things could be wrong at the same time.
Or maybe the indy shop wanted to sell and get rid of as many possible/probable causes as possible.
No I don't think you needed a new ignition cassette and plugs 2 month after the other one was replaced.
You may or may not have needed a new throttle body but I hope that the indy loaded the new software to your cars computyer before condemming the throttle body. It is a software out for the 99 9-5 to help the car computer deal with an aging throttle body.
Yes, I beleive that your main problem at this time was the water pump, SERPENTINE belt (your car don't have a timing belt) and plastic idler pulleys.
60-90K miles is the expected lifespan of serpentine belt and idler pulleys.
