JG,
Good to hear you like the new rear shocks. I too had the same hassle you described getting a top nut off the blasted shock shaft threads... had to destroy it while it was partly recessed in the top plate. To prevent this when I put the new shocks in, I wrapped the exposed threads with a lot of black electrical tape. This REALLY helped when I re-installed the Bilsteins. When I removed the tape, the threads were shiny and clean and the nuts spun off like they were oiled!
If you attempt your front sway bar yourself, be prepared to get stuck and not have use of your car the next day!!! As I said in the thread below, drop rear of engine subframe (which menas different amounts of other things like loosening exhaust, engine mount and steering rack depending on if you have 4 or 6 cyl). LOTS of heat on the swaybar bushing clamp capscrews/welded frame nuts and then lots of penetrating oil. I sheared one off but was able to drill it out from below and ran a bolt through upon install. The others, I worked back and forth with heat and lube for quite a while. Upon close inspection, I discovered the capscrews were the slightly triangular thread rolling tapping types. That explains why they are so tight. This is truly a PITA job but the front bar upgrade does make a BIG difference.
