Les:
My experience with KYB Gas-A-Just (dumb name for non-adjustable shock) in a 1995 Saab 900S was the opposite of JG's complaint below of being too soft. The rears were "very firm and the fronts were SO HARD the ride was simply not tolerable. My wife, who had some surgery at the time, yelped in pain every time we hit a bump or even pavement track ripples on cross streets! I called KYB and complained but the they claimed the fronts were only 10% stiffer than stock. That is simply not accurate IMHO! The fronts got pulled in the first week and replaced with good ol' Monroes. The rears stayed on since they were not as crazy-stiff. You may have good luck with the KYBs on your 9-5 wagon.
BTW, if you don't already know, a USA sourced shipment of parts (Bilsteins?) sent UPS standard ground to Winnipeg (or other international "port") can be self-declared by you. This saves the high brokerage fees. I just did this 3 times, twice taking advantage of eEuroparts free shipping to Canada for orders over $139 US. Same for the pads I bought from TireRack. Just notify UPS w/ref. tracking no. while goods are in transit... they call you upon arrival...You pick up paperwork at UPS on Route 90 and go to Customs near the Airport and pay taxes/get papers stamped... go back to UPS and get shipment all at no brokerage cost!
