New Saab, new questions

My girlfriend just bought a 2001 9-5 4 Cylinder wagon to replace her totaled '97 900, which means I get to figure out how to fix the the few small problems with it. So far I've successfully fixed the wind deflector arms on the moonroof and replaced the bulbs behind the seat heater/ ventilation switches as well as a couple other small things.
The one problem that has me stumped so far is the seat memory switch. I've read all the postings on this board regarding seat memory failures and have a decent understanding, but I'm still not sure if my problem lies in the memory switch or the module. When the "2" button is pressed, the seat moves to an old setting, but the other buttons do nothing (the "M" does not reset the "2" either). I took the seat memory switch off this evening and cleaned off the circuit board with rubbing alcohol as well as checked all the wires I could get to, but that did nothing. The seat does not move in intermittent bursts like some describe here, which I was hoping meant that it would not be the memory module (more expensive). And if it is the memory module does anyone know how to get down in there to replace it, or where I can find one for cheaper than $900?
Any help is much appreciated, and other than the few small problems we think our new (to us) 9-5 is an awesome car. Thanx~
