[right click | view image ] worked for me
OK, I am convinced, thanks for the pix, I was hoping that someone would do this.
The old one seemed to be a equal area design approach, but the small sharp edge mouth was really dumb. I have post formed that part of the old ones with a hot air gun, that does help, but seeing that pix of yours means that the only place for the old one is the land fill.
To replace: Remove the lower pannel from the bumper. 4 4mm hex up front and 4 #20 torx at the back. What scews missing... thats Saab for you. Loosen the clamp at the air filter - 7mm. Remove front grill py pulling up and out on it. Remove 1 8mm hex screww holding tube to RHS (on your left) horn bracket. Remove one 10mm hex holding horn bracket to meetal bumper. Move bracket out of the way and remove intake tube from below.
I expect that the new fat intake tube will be an interference fit and might need some force to get in in there... someone else can report on that.
Putting all else back together is simple. The lower cover can be a bit of a pain to get back in at the front. Chech tigheness of screws for bumper, air dam, and fog lamps while you can.
One jack on the vehicle RHS is all that is really needed and you can pop in a K&N while you are at it. That has 4 #20 torx screws. The cover is sort of a bad fit with the bumper and air dam. Thus removal and refitting can be a pain.
