A 9-5 SportWagon feels like a bigger car because the greenhouse is lower and there's more space around the rear seat passengers.
But if you can afford it there's no match for a 2006 750iL, although an A8 does turn my head, possibly a new S Class when they arrive. Used 740s and 745s can be a good buy. A used 745 for the price of a new Saab isn't too far fetched.
A 9-7X handles and goes, stops and turns pretty well, maybe enough to keep a sedan driver happy, try one.
