Optimum pressure for gas mileage (lowest rolling resistance) will be whatever the highest pressure limit of your tires is - it will be printed on the side of the tire.
However, running at max pressure will mean more noise, fast/uneven tire wear, possible handling problems, and rough ride. You need to find a compromise that you can live with.
The door sticker shows recommended tire pressures for various loads/speeds. Mine shows 32 psi for 3 people/under 160kmh, 39 psi for 4+ and over 160 kmh. I run 39 all the time on OEM Michelin MXV4.
