Hi,

I've owned a '95 900SE convertible for 7+ years and have a love/hate relationship with the car but absolutely love to drive it and can't imagine ever parting with it. I bought a Toyota a few years back so I could have a reliable commuter while enjoying the convertible on the weekends but am completely bored and missing the Saab when I drive it - so now I find myself considering a newer (2002-3) 9-5 Aero as a commuter car.

I have a reliable mechanic and am familiar with all of the shortcomings and issues with my '95 900, but I'm not very familiar with the 9-5's. I'm aware that Saab's can be a handful and accept the fact that they require a lot of attention, but here's my question:

Is a well-maintained 2002+ 9-5 likely to be more reliable than what I've experienced with my '95 900 (not very)?

I know this is a very general question, but have been on the NG900 BB for years and find the insights and thoughts provided very useful.
