The age old saying applies here - "play with fire and you can get burnt"
Saab choose to employ a technology which no other auto maker uses due to well known reliabiilty issues, and even worse their implemtation puts the electronics on the top of the engines, other after market CD designs as least mount off the engine.
So I'm very skeptical that this problem really will be fixed by the recall, likely only reduce the number of failures to an unknown degree.
As Swede car points out this is a voluntary recall which falls short of what owners really deserve as a fix, so I'd advise all to continue to file complaints with the NHTSA.
