I never actually went through with the Basslink install.. yet.. It is on the horizon for me.. just a matter of time.. as I was also considering other free-air sub options as well... though the basslink still seems to be the best option without going crazy with a new box/amp, etc..
pretty much everything "albany" stated is right on the money based on what i've researched... I think the signal from the rears is already filtered...You may have read of others splicing into the r.doors rather than the rear deck, but those folks were adding rear (6x9 full range) to replace the rear deck subs.. or because they had the AS2 system without r.deck/wiring... In your case the wiring from the rear deck should be fine..
as stated.. you will probably want to have the remote level control ... otherwise you may run into some balancing issues between the rear door and sub...
