Clunking part eight....

New pair of ball joints to cure the clunk - guess what - didn't work.
So once again, here's the symptoms:
Accel slowly and smoothly from stop - no clunk
Accel moderately or suddenly from stop or slow roll - loud clunk
Accel in a spirited manner - loud clunk followed by one or two smaller clunk/pop/creaks.
Noise appears to be located below passengers front footwell. Clunk can be felt slightly thru accel pedal and steering.
Happens when turning as above as well as straight.
So - it only happens most obviously when releasing front brakes & suspension on accel (car is 03 Aero Auto 56k) - and maybe from loading the suspension again when braking moderately/hard, although hard to determine when you are braking. It's got to be suspension related.
Next steps: I want to replace every front upper/lower/middle control arm bushing? Are there performance upgraded bushings ie. Polyurethane?
Replace all engine mounts - especially lower? Polyurethane?
Not convinced on the steering column lube fix mentioned here on this board causing this clunk - of course it could be transferring the sound/vibration along the axle.
Thoughts? It's got to be fixed. No loose subframe bolts or anything obvious. And I've got a good Saab Indy shop.
Advice welcomed!!
