It might be more helpful if you describe in detail what constituted "worn out" tires (i.e. - what type of tire wear you had). I and other 9-5 drivers have had a chronic problem with cupping and pronounced wear of the inner edge of our rear tires, despite being within the alignment specifications for the car. Some of us have sucessfully broken through the misinformation that most tire shops have that the rear camber setting for a Saab 9-5 is non-adjustable. I obtained the necessary shims from Saab and installed them myself and am waitng to see if this same wear starts to appear on my new set of rear tires.
