the usual conundrum: arc or aero?

For some time now I've been looking for a nice Aero to replace my (long gone) 1995 900 Convertible. A dealer whom I've befriended said he would try to find an Aero (01 or 02) in 5-speed that I could buy.
For the past two months, it's just been impossible to find the right deal. Instead, he bought an 02 Arc which I've been driving as a loaner that's actually pretty nice.
It's a 2002, 46k on the odometer, in black. He wants $13,900.
I still have my heart set on the Aero, for a variety of reasons. According to the fueleconomy.org, the Aero is more fuel efficient, and with these gas prices, that would add up. (Though the replies on the board imply that the gas mileage in the real world is about the same for both models.) I suspect than an Aero would cost at least $1,000 more.
So, I'm tempted by this (seemingly) good deal on the Arc, even though it forsakes the spiffyness of the Aero and its fuel economy.
Do y'all think the fuel economy of the Aero makes it worth the extra money? What about when I factor in the 60k Arc service?
