Just thought I'd post a good experience I recently had with my local SAAB dealer. Last Fri night I came out to find my car dead. I called SAAB Roadside Assistance and had the car towed to International Motors in Falls Church, VA. There is no service on the weekend, so I was going to have to wait until Monday before hearing anything back about the car.
Early Monday morning (before 10) I receive a call, telling me the car was fixed. The Throttle Body was bad and was replaced. At that time I told them about a couple other problems: the crankcase vent hoses were rotten and a directional stalk sometimes stuck or didn't stay in position while making a turn. I half expected the hoses to be a wear item, but to my surprise they were also covered under warranty. I had recently found a crack at the end of the hose, when I went to cut off 2" from the end and reattach it, I noticed the inside of the hose was disintegrating).
Anyway, the directional stalk was replaced, as well as three hoses that have to do with emissions and a PCV check valve, all under warranty. Out of curiosity, I check on http://www.eeuroparts.com for the parts cost. Using the parts numbers listed on the bill, I calculated $420 for parts. The labor hours weren't listed on the itemized bill so I won't tender a guess there. I've said this before and I'll say it again, the CPO Warranty will pay for itself many times. Without warranty, this job, parts, labor, towing, and car rental, would have been expensive.
Anyway, thanks to the folks at International Motors in Falls Church, VA.
