I posted a while back that after the local dealer performed the major service at 96,000 km (60k miles) on my 1999 SE V6 that I detected a variable whine/low howl from under the timing belt cover. I finally made it back to the dealer and they agreed right away that the sound wasn't "healthy" even though it wasn't very loud. The young service tech who did the work said immediately that the new belt tension was probably set too tight. Today they re-adjusted tension and everything sounds perfect now. No arguement or trying to convince me it was "normal" for a new toothed belt! Thank you!
As a bonus, they installed the new rear badge I ordered for no labour charge. As I wrote a week or so ago, some nincompoop pried the rear badge off leaving a few chips in the top paint coat.
