Hi Dean,

Thanks for the quick & detailed reply with so many helpful tips!

I plan to keep the car for at least 200k. (My current car has 369K miles.)
- 2002-2005: Is any one of these model years more reliable than the others?
- Which transmission has a longer life expectancy?
- Are all the paint colors equally durable or does one color hold up longer than the others do?

2004: What was significant about the front/rear end design?

"Aero's are fast and have stiff(er) suspension. Some do not care for that."
- Does the Aero's suspension handle significantly better than the Linear & Arc to warrant the stiffer ride?

- Will 16" wheels with 55-series tires on an Aero allow one to have most of the handling of the Aero with more comfortable ride quality - "the best of both worlds". (Will 16" wheels work with Aero brakes?)

Aero/Arc/Linear calipers have how many pistons: 1, 2, 4?

Yes, I'm a DIY type - mostly oil, filters, plugs, belts, hoses, fuel & H20 pumps, radiators, thermostats. I'm familiar salvage yards. However, I've not yet done brake pads, but am willing to learn.
- Is there a good supply of both new and used parts at reasonable prices?

Should I, as a potential SAAB customer, be concerned with GM's current financial health? (As you're probably aware, there have recently been many news stories on this topic.)

Thanks once again!!
chasman
