Got this crazy idea to paint th reflector housing a black pearl or smoked color to resemble the treatment on many of the new 'luxury' cars. I chrome in the light assemblies is so visually loud on a black car - it almost looks cheaper. Anyway so I had already swapped out my corner lights for the european (non-amber)versions, so I figured I would attempt to see how hard it was to separate the clear lens from the reflector. The corner lamp should be the hard one, so I tried it first. No dice. I tried every tool on my trusty Swiss Army knife and the only thing I accomplished was slightly cracking the edge of the lens. No worries since I wasn't using them anyway, but it looks like the pieces are welding together using some 'airplane-style' glue, the kind that basically melts the pieces and fuses them.

Anyway, has anyone ever tried this? I can't be the only crazy dude on this board. Cheers.
